Long time no blog

Okay... I'm still here. I just don't seem to have a lot to say. Since mom moved, Baylor Baseball season happened. With work, family, and friends keeping me fulltime busy, the addition of baseball season to the mix means that a lot of things had to go - including messing around with this blog. I am proud to say that the baseball season turned out great as our Baylor Bears made it to the College World Series in Omaha for the first time since 1978.

My wife and I went up to Omaha for the series and had a great time. Lots of other Baylor baseball nuts were there. We won incredible games against Tulane and Oregon State - on national TV. We didn't win it all, but still it was a great year.

I've also discovered the Tivo phenomenon. I've got two tivos now and one of them has a dvd player/burner built-in. So, I've got all the Baylor Baseball games from the NCAA super regionals and world series burned onto DVDs - very cool!

Latest discovery is the facebook. Absolutely amazing system for letting people network with each other in amazing ad hoc fashion. While it's not really all that useful to me I think facebook is a cultural phenomenon of the modern internet connected world.

Okay, that's it for tonight. Probably not all that interesting, but what the heck.

Moving Day

I've been working on getting mom moved into a new house for a couple of months now. We unexpectedly sold the house right around Christmas and had to move her out, put her stuff in storage and find a new place for her to live. We found a place pretty quickly, but it needed a lot of updating - tile & carpet, coutertops, heater, A/C system, new shower, all new window coverings, hot water heater, appliances, additional cabinets, all new electrical outlets & switches, lots of repair, and on and on. We finally got the work done and got her stuff out of storage and into the house.

Mom's in the house. I've got a bit more work to do, but at least she's sleeping in her own bed and under her own roof again. At the moment I'm worn out and hitting the sack.

Getting Started

Well, here I am...... Everyone is blogging and I thought I'd see what all the fuss is about. Therapy? Self-discovery? Ego-mania? Self expression? The natural outgrowth of a world isolated by communication technology.
